I am so delighted that you are here!
Having always enjoyed movement and dance, Pilates has been a perfect addition and enhancement to life. My passion teaching is to help your body and mind work more efficiently together in the ever changing daily landscape. You will be better prepared for all that comes your way.
Pilates has been constant, helping with recovery from surgery, triathlon training, running enhancement, balanced muscle strength, and mental clarity.
I am certified comprehensively through Balanced Body in Mat and Reformer 1, 2, and 3. Trapeze Table/ Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, and the Arc. Other certifications held are through Chair One Fitness, and Barre. Practicing Pilates for over 20 years and teaching in a various form for 10, I strive to improve your experience with regular ongoing education.
Pilates
Pilates is an intelligent form of exercise designed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s that lengthens, strengthens, and tones the entire body from the inside out. Having had health and respiratory issues as a child, Joseph was aware of the importance of strength and health to succeed in all physical pursuits. He believed modern lifestyle, poor posture, and inefficient breathing was the root cause of illness.
His original method called contrology helped wounded veterans experiencing atrophied muscles, injury, and illness in their hospital beds with resistance springs for strength training. He built and designed much of the equipment still used today. Later in his life, he founded a studio with his wife Clara in New York City that had a devoted dance and performing arts community. They trained and rehabilitated many people, as word spread rapidly.
With regular Pilates practice, you will develop deep core muscles to support your internal organs and assist improving the structure and strength of your entire body from inwards, out.
Pilates brings mental clarity, efficient breath, and prevention of injury. Lubricating your joints and improving posture to gift you a longer, stronger, and more resilient self.
